Doctoral student stumbles upon lost Mayan city

1. 11. 2024

Imagine using Google search and accidentally coming across the newly discovered second most densely populated city in the Mayan empire, right after Calakmul, just like that, without even walking into the jungle. Tulane University doctoral student Luke Auld-Thomas stumbled upon Valeriana when he was on page 16 of Google search and found a laser survey done by a Mexican organization for environmental monitoring, who obviously completely missed it.
